Awards
My career as a competition quilter was accidental. I was very reluctant to enter a show the first time. It felt so vulnerable to put myself out there. But you know, it was so much fun to see my quilt hanging, the judges comments were encouraging and helpful, and over that weekend I met so many other quilters. And we all had our love of quilting in common. As I made quilts I’d enter them. It was always nice to be juried in, and sometimes to be recognized for my workmanship with a ribbon. I overcame that worry of being judged. Being part of the quilting community, sharing my work, and enjoying the work of others has been an amazing journey. I hope this encourages you to share your work.
